An ancient power calls Kiera beyond the trees.
Back in the days before cities and roads there lived a race of magical creatures in the woods and streams and hills. They’ve been called by many names: dryads, nymphs, Sylvan, but the most accurate name comes from the Welsh, Gwragedd Annwin, Wives of the Abyss. For years they seduced lonely travelers beyond the trees and feasted on their flesh.
As our world encroached upon the Sylvan, their numbers dwindled. But for some women, the promise of eternal youth and beauty and the power to control men, is too much to resist. They forsake our modern world and return to nature. And it is rumored that a glade of seven Sylvan will be able to summon the power of the whole forest to take revenge upon man.
People go missing all the time in the woods just outside Ashtabula Ohio, so little is done when an angry emo girl disappears during a high school bonfire. Eight years later, her sister Kiera desperately tries to keep the tattered remains of her family together. The man jailed for killing her sister is free, and when people around Kiera start disappearing, he’s an easy target. But he knows the truth of what happened to her sister. And Kiera keeps having these visions, calling her out into the woods. The Sylvan have found their seventh.
