It was supposed to be a classroom presentation but Rick Fonté wanted to make a good first impression in his MFA directing program and recruited 1st year MFA lighting set and costuming students and put up the elaborate fable The Love Talker by Debbie Pryor. He added four ‘forest sprites’ to the cast to help with the scene changes and add to the fantastical feel of the script. Unfortunately it was staged in a snowstorm so few people saw it.
“I can’t do anything simply. I don’t see the point. Why do something in a classroom when you can stage it with a set and lights and costumes. Thats wehn it really becomes a play for me.”
